Easy Swiss Steak Recipe

Swiss Steak Ingredients
serves 4
- 1 lb round steak or sirloin steak, cut in 4 0z portions
- 1 onion sliced
- 1 can diced tomatoes (optional)
- 1/2 green pepper diced
- 2 tsp beef base
- 2 cups water
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 c flour
- 2 0z. butter
Swiss Steak Directions
In mixing bowl place flour . Dredge meat in flour. In large frying pan or electric pan, put butter, then place meat, onions, peppers, and seasonings. Brown at 350℉ on both sides. When meat is nice and browned, place beef base then slowly add water, stirring around to form a gravy. Let simmer for about an hour or until meat is tender. Serve with mashed potatoes and vegetables, salad, rolls etc.
Note: If you like tomatoes, add after gravy is made. Simmer.
